Candidates can appear the SAT exam as many times as they like. No limit on it .The SAT exam is conducted 5 times every year (March, May, August, October, and December). If the college asking you to submit your highest SAT scores then you can attend the test as many times as you like and send your best scores to the college, they will not be able to access your any other SAT score. But if the college asks you to send all your score results, then it is recommended that you should not give it more than three times.
One major difference between SAT & ACT is that ACT includes a whole part on Science which is not there in the SAT. ACT helps Students from Science background to showcase their skills related to Science subjects.There is a key difference between these exams like during the ACT exam, the candidate can use a calculator while in the SAT the candidates need not use the calculator as it comprises a short ‘no calculator subsection’.
There are two ways of sending your scores to colleges, one while applying for the test or after releasing the official scores. Candidates receive 4 free score cards while applying for the SAT test. Students can also send the scores to colleges within nine days of taking the exam and after that they have to pay $12 for sending the score reports to each college/university they are choosing.
SAT candidates receive two part scores, Evidence-based Reading and Writing, and one for Math. Both these scores are reported on a scale of 200 to 800.Adding these scores together make up the total SAT score of the candidate. The total score ranges between 400 and 1600. Scores for the optional essay are reported separately.
As of now there is no specific eligibility criteria College Board suggested for taking the SAT . Also, there is no age limit specified by the administrative authority. Students who are in their senior or junior years of high school usually appear for the exam. The registration fee for SAT exam is $52 and fee for SAT with Essay is $68. Also, students giving this exam outside the US have to pay $49 in addition to this fee. The registration fee for a subject test is $26.
